WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: CBU falls to Grand Canyon 62-58

The California Baptist women’s basketball team dropped its fifth game in a row by falling to Grand Canyon 62-58. Ane Olaeta netted a game-high 20 points along with 9 assists in the loss for CBU (8-10, 0-4).

The Lancers trailed by as many as 16 points in the 2nd quarter before battling back and taking the lead in the third.

Tiena Afu grabbed 15 rebounds to go along with her 8 points.

The Lancers hit the road for games at Chicago State and Kansas City.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: CBU drops first home game, 80-68 vs. San Diego St.

Despite 23 points and nine rebounds from Lexy Ram, California Baptist lost at home for the first time this season 80-68 against San Diego State.

The Aztecs grabbed the win by out-scoring CBU 26-13 in the fourth quarter.

CBU (8-6) returns to action on January 2 at New Mexico State as the Lancers open WAC play.
