IE All-Star Classic MVP Jon Jefferson – Marines Recruiting Station Riverside Athlete of the Week

Citrus Hill quarterback/running back Jon Jefferson ran for two touchdowns, helping Riverside County win the 33rd Inland Empire All-Star Classic 49-24 at Centennial High School in Corona. Jefferson finished with 150 rushing yards on 19 carries.

FOOTBALL: 33rd Inland Empire All-Star Classic Set for January 13

The longest running high school football all-star game in California returns on January 13 at Centennial High School in Corona.

The 33rd Inland Empire All-Star Classic pits San Bernardino County (UCLA colors) against the all-stars from Riverside County (USC Colors).

Centennial head coach Matt Logan will guide the Riverside All-Star team, while Nick Matheny from Summit will skipper the all-stars from San Bernardino.

The Inland Empire All-Star Classic has passed out more than $175,000 in scholarship money. This year, four more scholarships will be awarded. Click on the following link for an application and instructions to apply:

FOOTBALL: Kurt Bruich leaving REV for Citrus Valley

According to the Citrus Valley Athletics twitter account, Redlands East Valley head football coach Kurt Bruich will take over the Citrus Valley program effective on January 8, 2018.

Bruich spent 16 years at REV and won 11 Citrus Belt League titles.

He also guided the Wildcats to the CIF Southern Section Inland Division and CIF Division 2 state championship in 2014.

Bruich leaves REV with an overall record of 140-46-2.

Citrus Valley finished 5-6 last season.

Cajon DB/WR Rome Weber: Marines Recruiting Station Riverside Athlete of the Week

Cajon defensive back/receiver Rome Weber is our Marines Recruiting Station Riverside Athlete of the Week after scoring a pair of touchdowns during a 70-23 win vs. Rancho Verde in the CIF Division 2A SoCal Regional. Weber caught a touchdown pass from quarterback Jayden Daniels and later took a lateral from Jeremiah Martin to score a touchdown while on defense. Cajon will travel to Sacramento on Friday to play San Mateo Serra on Friday at 4pm for the CIF Division 2AA state championship.

 

FOOTBALL: Cajon advances to CIF D2AA State Championship with 70-32 win vs. Rancho Verde

The Cajon Cowboys defeated Rancho Verde 70-32 in the CIF Division 2AA Southern California Regional Bowl Game on Friday night. Cajon will travel to Sacramento to play San Mateo Serra for the state championship on Friday 4pm at Sacramento State University.
