VOLLEYBALL: NCAA Division II West Regional at CBU Preview

The Cal Baptist volleyball team joined Pep Fernandez on The Inland_Sports Show on Fox Sports IE 1350AM this past Saturday to preview the West Regional at CBU.

Inland_Sports volleyball correspondent Derryl Trujillo previews the NCAA Division II West Regional at Cal Baptist University, beginning Thursday and concluding Saturday at Van Dyne Gym.

The Lancers are hosting the postseason tournament after finishing a perfect 28-0 and as the #1 team in the country.

BASKETBALL: Cal Baptist Media Day

The Cal Baptist University men’s basketball team has been selected as the preseason pick to win the PacWest Conference title this season.

The Lancers open the year ranked No. 9 in the nation for Division II.

CBU finished 28-7 last season.

Cal Baptist will meet the Cal Golden Bears in exhibition play this week before tipping off the campaign at home against Montana State-Billings on November 11 at 4pm.


The women’s basketball team will open the season ranked No. 2 in the country. The Lancers will make their season debut at the CCA DII Tipoff Classic in Orange.

CBU posted a record of 29-3 last season.


BASEBALL: Cal Poly Pomona Edges Cal Baptist 7-6 in NCAA Division II West Region Championship


Following an unparalleled season on the diamond, the Cal Baptist Lancers baseball team fell to Cal Poly Pomona for the second time in three days in what would determine the NCAA Division II West Regional champion.

The Broncos Jacob Bernardy (Temecula Chaparral HS) swatted a grand slam in the 8th inning to give Cal Poly Pomona a 7-6 win. The Broncos also defeated CBU 6-5 in 10 innings at the West Regional.

The Lancers finish the season 42-13 having won the PacWest Conference title and hosted an NCAA postseason event for the first time in school history.

Cal Poly Pomona advances to the Division II College World Series in Cary, North Carolina for the second year in a row.
