SOFTBALL: Norco wins the CIF-SS Division 1 Crown

Defending CIF Southern Section Division 1 champion Norco captured its fifth D1 championship with a 2-0 win vs. Great Oak in the finals in Irvine on Friday night. The Cougars were playing in their seventh CIF-SS D1 championship game in the past decade. Norco vs. Great Oak is the fourth time in the past 10 years that a pair of Inland Empire schools have squared-off in the Division 1 Finals. The other three times featured Norco vs. Santiago. Baseball & Softball All-CIF Selections

The CIF Southern Section released its All-CIF baseball and softball teams on Monday.

Yucaipa pitcher Tyson Heaton was named the CIF-SS Division 2 player of the year, with coach Ralph Grajeda taking home the coach of the year honors.

In softball, Norco slugger Kinzie Hansen earned the Division 1 player of the year award as Rick Robinson was tabbed as the coach of the year!

SOFTBALL: Norco honored at The Big A

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim honored he CIF champion Norco softball team before their game against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday night at the Big A. Norco captured its fifth CIF Southern Section Division 1 title less than three weeks ago.

SOFTBALL: Norco Pitcher Taylor Dockins named Gatorade National POY

Norco softball pitcher Taylor Dockins got more than just her usual coffee at Xpresso Urban Cafe in Corona on Wednesday morning.

Greeting Dockins as her barista was none other than USA Softball legend Jennie Finch who presented Dockins with the Gatorade National Player of the Year Award.

Dockins, who already earned the Gatorade State Player of the Year Award, finished 33-1 her senior season and guided Norco to the CIF Southern Section Division 1 Finals.

Dockins will join us on The Inland_Sports Show this Saturday at 11am.

Norco High School picked up a 5-1 win vs. Centennial in Big VIII League play, as starting pitcher Taylor Dockins broke the CIF Southern Section records for career wins earning #104.
