FOOTBALL: Poly coach Derek Dewitt on Riverside TV

Second place in the Inland Valley League, a likely a playoff spot, will be up for grabs as rivals Riverside Poly and JW North will meet on Friday on Riverside TV.

We caught up with Bears head coach Derek Dewitt on the Riverside TV Coaches Perspective.


BASEBALL: Percival pitches Poly past Citrus Valley 1-0 in CIF-SS Division 3 Playoffs

Riverside Poly pitcher Cole Percival pitched a complete game shutout, lifting the Bears to a 1-0 victory at Citrus Valley in the CIF Southern Section Division 3 playoffs.

Percival took a no-hitter into the 6th inning before surrendering a double to Cody Branstetter. The Blackhawks Chaz McWilliams doubled in the seventh inning to put the tying run in scoring position, but Percival went the the distance allowing just two hits in the game.

SOFTBALL: Riverside Poly rallies past Valley View 5-4

The Riverside Poly softball team completed a dramatic comeback in the bottom of the 7th inning as Nahuaque Orona drove home Niki Calderon for the 5-4 walk-off win against Valley View.

Both teams entered the game 2-0 in the Inland Valley League and front-runners for the league championship.

The Poly Bears have won 12 straight games.

LIVE BASEBALL: Corona vs. Riverside Poly

The Riverside Poly Bears host the Corona Panthers in their 2017 season opener; featuring two of the oldest schools in Riverside County. The last time Corona played Poly in their season opener, it was 1998 and the two schools ended up seeing each other for the CIF Southern Section Division 2 title at Dodger Stadium.

The Bears Cole Percival pitched Poly past the Panthers 1-0.

SOCCER: Riverside Poly wins Inland Valley title with 5-0 win vs. Canyon Springs

The Riverside Poly boys soccer team wrapped up the Inland Valley League championship with a 5-0 victory versus Canyon Springs.

Jesus Barriga netted four goals in the victory.

The Bears finish the regular season 17-3-3 overall, 8-0-2 in the IVL.
