VOLLEYBALL: Citrus Valley earns share of CBL crown

The Citrus Valley Blackhawks defeated Yucaipa 3-0 to force a 3-way tie for first place in the Citrus Belt League along with the T’birds and Redlands East Valley. CV defeated Yucaipa and REV in the final week of CBL play.

FOOTBALL: Nathan Martinez guides Redlands past Chapman 39-26

The University of Redlands turned to quarterback Nathan Martinez after replacing starter Levi Plante in the second quarter against Chapman on Saturday night.

Martinez finished with 257 passing yards and 3 touchdowns to lead the Bulldogs to a 39-26 win in SCIAC action.

FOOTBALL: Kurt Bruich leads Citrus Valley into opener @ Valley View

Kurt Bruich will make his debut as the Citrus Valley head football coach when the Blackhawks travel to Valley View in Week 1 next Friday.

SOFTBALL: REV, JW North fall in CIF-SS championship games

The JW North softball team, making its first ever appearance in a CIF Southern Section championship game, lost to Chaminade 5-3 in the Division 5 Finals on Friday at Deanna Manning Stadium in Irvine.

Redlands East Valley also made their championship game debut, and lost to West Torrance in the D3 title game.
